“We are now approximately in the 40th year of the Teaching Mission, and there has been much progress and development since the publication of The Urantia Book in 1955. The TM came along and introduced a new form of revelation, and the Magisterial Mission introduced Monjoronson, who will one day be present on this planet in his magnificence.
However, we have never had a leader, like a prophet, or a military leader, we have never been presented with a leader, someone who can organise us and focus on the future, towards the development of the Days of Light and Life. It is not that unusual to have an organising, focalising leader, but leaders can also have their own interpretations, and there can be divisions in a group. To bring forth an organising leader would be a shock to you.
To lead yourselves we have introduced the Design Team process 15 years ago, which requires a facilitator, a recorder, a consultant, a spiritual consultant who speaks through a T/R. and enquiring members. As we do not anticipate that there will be a spiritual, focalising leader, you must do this yourselves, as a socially sustainable design and validation team, as this one will be reassigned in a few weeks. This one will be withdrawn from the group. This one will be available to you, but you will need to form your own team, and you will need to decide who will be the facilitator, the recorder, decide whether you will have a mortal to be your consultant, or if one of you is sensitive and able to channel (a spiritual consultant).
(You might feel that) we the Melchizedeks are abandoning you, sending you out on a raft, but it is a canoe with a rudder. We want you to behave in this way. How will you progress? We advise you to select the most capable person as a facilitator, to work on healthcare, to define plans for the next 500 years, for a society that has gone through the trauma of a collapse and a post-collapse, so that the organisations that will provide healthcare come away from the limitations and behave in a way that is equitable and fair, using the seven core values and the ethics and morality of decision-making.
Untold guidance is available to you in your quiet moments, there is an abundance of guidance, and Sondjah Melchizedek will be available to hundreds and thousands of teams simultaneously. We were cautioned to listen and observe, and if we want to add more members, Gil Leclerc from Bloomington, Ontario was suggested. It was also suggested that the team rotates the roles every 8 sessions. It was noted that a facilitator is only as effective as the team allows, and that one has to move forward constantly to fulfil the intention.
“Machiventa is giving you a tough lesson. You have the possibility to produce great things.”
📝 Bea Ngai’s summary of the additional points that were not recorded:
- Daniel will T/R for our group until he is reassigned which could happen at any time. During the week, we may ask Daniel questions that he can put to Machiventa for a response. In the meantime, we should consider who we might want as a T/R when Daniel is reassigned.
- We are to assign a facilitator amongst ourselves. This role will rotate among all of us every 8 sessions, so we all have the experience and challenge of being facilitator.
- The facilitator helps direct/redirect the discussion but doesn’t primarily contribute to it.
- The schematic developed by Daniel about the design team process will be important for us to frame how we discuss the issues.
- Machiventa says it may seem like they are leaving us to our own devices but that is not the case. It is all for our personal and group development of skills that will enable us to design a sustainable civilization.
Bea asked a question about adding an additional member because of Daniel no longer being an active participating member. The response from Machiventa/Daniel was that we could consider adding Gil Leclerc who is from Ontario, Canada to our group.
🌍 1. Global Statement of Project
Global Statement of Project : Equal Access to the Best Global Standard of Healthcare for the Wellbeing of All
- Bea noted that in health care there are always standards of practice that evolve, and they are brought to the world at different times. Ideally, everybody would have access to the latest, best standards of care and the foremost treatments.
- It was suggested that we would need to assume that those treatments are actually sustainable in themselves, since there are a lot of modern treatments online which one could well do without.
- Geoff reminded the group that they were not working to fix the existing system, but visualising an ideal situation, and setting down the basic foundations of establishing such a system.
- Marthe noted that she was a bit concerned about the use of the suggested term “foremost,” as she did some medical research in New York while she was studying there, and discovered that the foremost treatment of uterine cancer in women in the early 1900s involved removing women’s legs. She therefore suggested that instead of “foremost treatments” one rather used “holistic treatments”, or “life-enhancing” ones.
- It was suggested to use the word “sustainable”, and that “holistic health” should include all the seven dimensions of human development. It was highlighted that all human beings deserve to be healthy, and they deserve to live in a society that supports them to be healthy. The best global standard of healthcare therefore encompasses a lot of things, including prevention, treatment and diet.
- Simplicity in formulation was suggested, so “Equal access to the best global standard of healthcare for the wellbeing of all” became the Global Statement of Project.
🧭 2. Statement of Intention: Discussion
- It was noted that healthcare is a basic human right, and that it is morally responsible for societies and nations to provide universal healthcare to individuals. Since individuals are the living assets of every nation, and the best, most healthy individuals are a much improved asset, it would make sense to ensure that each individual develops along the seven dimensions of human Development.
- David added that individuals who are healthy along all seven dimensions of human Development contribute better to a sustainable Civilization.
- It was agreed to select social rather than material as the area we were working on, and Jacques added that we also had to remember that all people on this planet transition to the morontia world, and in order for them not to be stuck in the borderland, and because we are eternal souls, we had to keep the spiritual aspect of human development in mind.
- Geoff noted, however that this was a secular process, and that we were dealing with this planet, and that he would prefer that we stuck to things that can be accepted by existing organisations, without the hurdle of spiritual references that can alienate secular intellectuals. He emphasised that we needed to be very pragmatic and down to earth about this.
- There was some resistance to leaving out all references to eternal souls, especially as we were acting as planetary managers, but it was agreed that the final one of the seven dimensions of human development is spirituality, and spirituality does talk about what happens after we die.
- Bea agreed that healthcare had both secular and spiritual dimensions to it, and although the mansion worlds is the goal, the spiritual dimension mostly enters into end-of-life issues when it comes to healthcare. She agreed with mentioning the seven dimensions, because it does include the spiritual, but suggested keeping things as short and brief as possible for the global intention.
Statement of Intention (Briefly): Because Holistically Healthy Individuals Contribute Better to a Sustainable Civilization
- It was agreed that health referred to the seven dimensions of human development, (the physical, the emotional, the mental, the intellectual, the social, the cultural and the spiritual), so even though there was some agreement on referring to the spiritual aspect, it was agreed that if the word holistic was used, it could pass as secular, and include everybody’s viewpoint.
- A powerful question was posed, “Is it easier to run a planet than (to run) a family?” as it seemed that there would be greater success if one started with an individual family first, then moved out into the community and state and nation, before ensuring that there were 8 billion healthy people, or 3.5 billion healthy people (after a possible civilizational collapse.)
- We agreed to start at the individual level, but knowing that the target is the global, and the question was raised about how we would measure the well being of 3.5 billion people. It was pointed out that you won’t have a healthy person unless they have good clean water, healthy food, clean air, and a good social environment.
- It was acknowledged that healthcare is a huge topic, and the point of contact is the individual and the family in the healthcare system. To measure the success along the seven dimensions of physical health, emotional health, mental health, etc, one can look at crime rates, and suicide rates, but we need to remember that healthcare starts with prevention, and that’s where diet and clean water comes in.
- The second stage would be the treatment of a disease, and the third stage would be palliative, end-of-life, care. It was therefore agreed that we are looking at the whole life continuum, or lifespan of an individual, which would start three to six months prior to conception.
- At the moment our healthcare system is actually a disease management system, and it’s not a healthcare system at all. An ideal healthcare system would need to look at decent sleep, clean water, good food, a caring environment, and so forth, to ensure healthy and well balanced individuals in all of the seven dimensions of human development, and one will need to start before conception, to make sure that the parents are eating well and that the parents have good genetics, to produce a healthy child from conception to the end of the life of the individual, and beyond…
🔄 Team Continuity and Logistics
- Jacques agreed to continue as facilitator for at least another sesión, while Marthe would continue as recorder, and Geoff noted that it seemed the sensible thing to do for now, since we will be changing roles as we go through, and everybody will end up being a facilitator.
- Geoff noted that he would continue to be an enquiring member, and that he had Daniel’s book on the Design Team process close at hand, so that he could guide step by step, and that next time we would look at the expectations and beliefs.
- The group agreed to come up with questions for Machiventa, and take them offline, and also to look at using the Google chat function for these communications, to avoid long threads of e-mail communications.
- It was pointed out, however, that in order to use the Google chat and Google drive functions, the team members would each need a G-mail account.
- It was agreed that someone would need to give people access and school people in the use of the Google chat function. David explained that people can organise the chat by topic and talk on each topic.
