Midwayers

Juan Ramirez

Midwayers are a unique order of planetary beings who occupy an intermediate level between humans (material) and angels (spiritual). They serve as essential liaisons, communicators, and helpers—working to bridge the gap between the visible world of mortals and the invisible ministries of celestial personalities.

They are called Midwayers because they exist “midway” between the human and angelic realms.

Spiritual Context

In celestial teachings, Midwayers are described as permanent inhabitants of a planet, entrusted with supporting its long-term spiritual, moral, and social evolution. They are native to Urantia and deeply invested in humanity’s welfare. Unlike angels, who come and go according to assignment, Midwayers remain:

  • familiar with human cultures,

  • attuned to celestial guidance, and

  • committed to planetary progress.

Midwayers played key roles in major spiritual epochs on Urantia, including the missions of Adam and Eve, Melchizedek, and Jesus.

They continue to serve actively in the Correcting Time.

Two Orders of Midwayers

As revealed in The Urantia Book, Midwayers exist in two primary groups:

  1. Primary Midwayers

    • Older order, originating from the Planetary Prince’s staff.

    • More closely aligned with the angelic spectrum.

    • Serve in administrative and supervisory functions.

  2. Secondary Midwayers

    • Later order, emerging during Adamic times.

    • Closer to human perception and experience.

    • More active in communication and human support.

Together, they are called the United Midwayers of Urantia, reflecting their unity after long periods of historical separation.

Roles and Functions of Midwayers

Midwayers serve as:

  • Planetary Liaisons: Bridging mortal and celestial communication.

  • Interpreters: Translating celestial intentions into forms humans can understand.

  • Protectors: Assisting in safety, timing, and coordination of human experiences.

  • Guides: Inspiring insight, courage, and moral decision-making.

  • Recorders: Preserving planetary history and facilitating revelatory missions.

  • Supporters of Truth: Helping correct distortions and promote spiritual clarity.

  • Custodians of Stability: Maintaining continuity during times of disruption.

They work closely with:

Midwayers operate quietly, never violating human free will.

Midwayers in the Correcting Time

Celestial teachers describe Midwayers as vital agents in the Correcting Time mission. Their tasks now include:

They are among our closest celestial siblings, consistently working behind the scenes.

Machiventa Melchizedek often refers to the Midwayers as the “native working corps” of the planet—those who know Urantia best and serve it tirelessly. Monjoronson teaches that Midwayers are essential partners in the long process of restoration and stabilization.

Midwayers are our unseen planetary companions—faithful, devoted, and eternally committed to the progress of Urantia.
