Cosmic Community

Definition:
The Cosmic Community refers to the vast family of intelligent beings—mortal, morontial, and spiritual—who inhabit the universes of time and space under the loving sovereignty of the Creator. It is the collective society of all who share a common divine origin, a shared spiritual destiny, and interconnected participation in the unfolding cosmic plan.

The cosmic community is not an abstract concept; it is the living reality into which every mortal is born as a potential eternal being.

Spiritual Context:
In The Urantia Book, the universe is portrayed as highly organized, purposeful, and relational—filled with diverse orders of beings such as Melchizedeks, Seraphim, Midwayers, Morontia Companions, and ascending mortals from millions of worlds. The Teaching Mission and the Correcting Time highlight that humans on Urantia are not isolated, but part of this expansive and interconnected universe society.

The cosmic community is thus both celestial and mortal, both local and universal, and eternally growing as each soul advances.

Characteristics of the Cosmic Community:

  • Diversity of Beings: Countless orders of life, each with unique functions and capacities.

  • Shared Origin: Every personality ultimately arises from the Universal Father.

  • Unified Purpose: All beings participate in the gradual evolution and perfection of the universe.

  • Interconnected Ministry: Celestial orders work cooperatively for the uplift of worlds and souls.

  • Dynamic Growth: The community expands as mortals ascend and evolve spiritually.

Cosmic Community in the Correcting Time:
One purpose of the Correcting Time is to help mortals on Urantia awaken to the reality that they are part of a larger universe family. This awareness helps shift human consciousness from isolation, fear, and conflict toward cooperation, unity, and spiritual progress.

Through the Teaching Mission and Magisterial Mission, celestial personalities actively engage with mortals to:

  • Cultivate awareness of humanity’s place in the universe

  • Encourage co-creative partnership between mortals and celestials

  • Promote planetary healing and global harmony

  • Prepare Urantia for eventual reintegration into the cosmic circuits

This awakening fosters humility, curiosity, and the desire to live in alignment with universe values.

Relation to the Seven Core Values:

Celestial Perspective:
Machiventa Melchizedek often frames the cosmic community as the true “context of life”—the larger spiritual environment into which all beings are born. Monjoronson emphasizes that understanding this community helps mortals act with greater purpose, knowing their choices contribute not only to their personal destiny but to the welfare of a much larger universe family.
