Awakening of Humanity: A Shift Towards Empathy and Compassion

In recent decades, there has been the beginnings of an awakening in the minds and hearts of the more sensitive part of humanity. This has been the beginning of a more empathetic, compassionate, and loving humanity. Qualitative enhancement is founded in better equity, a sense of actual equality as a force among people. Love of humanity is at the core of this emerging value, founded in the feminine aspect of people.

The Balance Between Masculine and Feminine Values

The male aspect is basically about authority, power, and control. Its female counterpart is based on equality, compassion, and love. The world begs for more balance between these values/emotions. For about the last 20,000 years, which is since the dawn of civilization, the dominant force has been masculine. There needs to be more balance; a true increase in the feminine is needed, bringing a more equitable and caring aspect to humankind. When the feminine gains its rightful place, decisions will be made considering values of equality and love as well as authority and traditional politics.

Moving Beyond the Quantity Economic Model

Much of humanity begs for change, for something qualitatively better rather than the quantity economic model many of us have been following for the last century. The quantity model, with the population of the Earth nearing 8 billion, is not sustainable on our very finite planet. Buckminster Fuller tried to make us aware of this back in the 1960s with his concept of “spaceship Earth.” We have a natural world that is heavily impacted by the actions of mankind. At the present time, scientists are telling us we are using natural resources faster than our planet can recover from. This is a matter of fact, unfortunately. A change in our habits, in our motivation, is needed to change our course. We need a qualitative approach rather than more and more quantity, which will destroy our world in time.

Embracing Equity and Fulfillment

When we come to our senses and embrace a more equitable world, and change from the quantitative mindset, we will find a more fulfilling situation. Instead of wanting more and more, we will find value in each other, our relationships, balanced education, cultural and social enrichment, and citizens’ governmental input. Our whole system must evolve, become more responsive and adaptive to the public and world’s needs. When the bottom half of the world’s population earns less than $10 dollars a day, a recent study shows that the average person in the top 10% earns 15 times the average in the bottom 50%. In the United States, Russia, and India, the gap is widening even further. Inequality financially is increasing rather than decreasing in these three countries. The report states that the solution is found in the policy choices made more than anything else. For example, European countries experienced much less change in equality. When a paradigm shift occurs, money will not be the measure of success. What character and kindness a person has will matter more than what he/she earns monetarily. However, it is up to those of us who are able to assist those in need of subsistence. It is important that basic needs are met and then enjoy the relational qualities of life. It is also important that education about the cause and effect of humanity takes place to lower our numbers to a sustainable level.

Equality for All: A Universal Dream

Equality of everyone is a dream to be realized and accomplished. Everyone on our planet should have an opportunity to have an education and basic needs met. There are parts of our world where there is not equality between men and women. With the enlightenment of the rest of humanity, I hope that will change. The value of the feminine is generally understated and that must become equal to male values. We crave to be loved, to be equal, and understood for our great worth. Our individual universal potential is enormous and needs to be recognized. Each person has worth and is valuable. They all must see that in themselves while also seeing it in all others. We must not be narcissistic but be social and see that all of us are important. Paramount is the development of a love of humanity in equity and compassion. This cannot be stated enough. We need to enhance the brotherhood and sisterhood of everyone on our small, troubled planet. Togetherness rather than divisiveness is important.

Evolving Society and Governance

Together, we may evolve our society and governance into a more responsive and adaptive system capable of resolving crises as well as day-to-day functioning. With improved advanced democracy, more responsive to a more balanced, participatory public, improvements will occur. Citizens in co-creative development teams, which are small but capable, organized and inspired work groups, can make pragmatic solutions available. Working this way, we may find the answers necessary to help our world recover from the severe issues facing her. Some may disagree with these views, and they definitely have that right, and I uphold that right and offer the opportunity of open and friendly conversation. I try to respect everyone as I feel everyone has something important to say. Loving one another no matter what is key to peace and stability, sustaining civilization.
